Trigger Warning- Police violence: My friends were arrested at gunpoint for dumpster diving on Agnes Scott campus. This is their account of what happened. The administration has yet to take action. We demand that Agnes Scott:
    •    Drop any charges against the dumpster divers, and remove any trespass orders against them. They did nothing wrong, and have already been put through too much.
    •    Fire Officer Antinozzi. His behavior does not contribute to a safe and peaceful campus, and is not in keeping with the university’s philosophy.
    •    Publish a memorandum clarifying its policies on use of force, and how the university intends to prevent this sort of mistreatment in the future.
    •    Publish the regulations surrounding how the college deals with complaints against a police officer, to ensure transparency and accountability in the police department.

I know these people and they’ve been terribly, terribly wronged. Please watch the video and read the above message.

Oh God, this was on TV years ago and my family still talk about it! He’s a wee penguin who lives in Japan; he was rescued by a Japanese fisherman, and ended up going home to live with the family. They built him a little refrigerator room to live in, and he became the family pet. Then one day he went shopping with them, and got very excited about the fish shop (understandably!) and now he goes off on his own to pick up fish from the fish shop for the family, which he brings back in his little penguin backpack, having nommed his own fish at the fish shop. IT IS THE BEST THING EVER.

If this amendment ends up in the farm bill and passes, it would hit African Americans particularly hard.

I don’t understand this logic. Lets deny formerly incarcerated folks food stamps, which is often their only means of income because they can’t find work, so that they do less crime when the only reason they were incarcerated in the first place was for just trying to survive.

The only thing that this is gonna do is make more folks have to commit crime to survive.

Fuck this system.

This is on top of the existing ban of people with drug felonies from food stamps and welfare, right?
